Happy Valentine’s Day, webiverse!
I usually am not hugely into Valentine’s day, and this year really isnt any different except for the fact that I am excited to go out to dinner, since we have some extra cash to do so.
Jeff is surprising me with dinner at a new restuarant (I am so curious, I could die) and told me not to look at the bank online, just in case he decides to break the rules and get me a gift. He is already stopping by the yarn shop today to pick up the remaining yarn for Sean’s scarf, so that is gift enough. Poor thing, he still hasnt gotten anything knit by me, but neither have I, so I guess we both have to wait until gifting season is good and over.
Anyhoo, my dad used to get us 1 lb boxes of See’s candy when we were little all the way up to last year, but this year he is too busy (they dont have See’s out here on the East Coast, so it makes it kinda hard to pop into the shop to grab a few boxes) so I am sad about that. Another tradition I am too old to participate in any longer. So I told him that he will just have to pick the tradition back up when he is retired and has little grandkids running around to give those fun boxes to.
Also, I can’t wait for my tax return to come in. I have been hording a bunch of Best Buy gift cards (from Christmas and my birthday) to buy myself a new DSLR. I am going to splurge on the Nikon D40 so that I can take real pictures of the boy’s band, nature shots and good pics of my knitting to post up here. So that way, I dont have to wait until my sister is around for her to take pictures of my knitting projects (at her reluctance and hearing her constant excuses, “the battery is dead and I cant find the charger cord”). I know it cant be more than a couple weeks away before the state tax gets direct deposited, so I can get my camera and Jeff can get his lower sleeve filled in (that’s a tattoo for those of you not into that kind of thing). Ok this post is getting too long.
Hope everyone has a nice v-day!
